For the 1st part of Spring Break, our family (along with Papa and Granna) went to Pigeon Forge for a few days. The last couple of years we have made this trip with the boys and have always stayed in the same cabin. The cabin is nice, but beginning to feel smaller because the boys are getting bigger. This time we contemplated renting a different (larger) cabin, but when we mentioned it to the boys they had a fit. They wanted to stay "where we always stay". Luckily it was not booked and we were able to stay in our fav. cabin. We left on Saturday and returned home on Wed. We had an absolute blast! We stopped at the Bass Pro Shop going in on Sat. (mainly for Papa who loves to fish) The boys love looking around the store. They have a HUGE fish tank and a shooting range. They were also having an egg hunt while we were there. Eggs were hidden throughout the store. We went to Walmart to buy groceries that night after we ate at the Cracker Barrel. Yum!
On Sunday, the weather was beautiful! Sunny and about 75 degrees. Since the weather was corporating, we drove over to Gaitlinberg for the day. My boys are so funny. They are such creatures of habit. We had to park in the same lot as we did last year. Also they have their favorite shop/spots that they love. One of those is places is Fannie Farkles Arcade. They love to play video games here. Another perk is that they have the BEST corn dog you have ever eaten! Now I am not normally a fan of corn dogs, but if you are ever in Gaitlinberg. Do yourself a favor and go by there to eat a corn dog. They are hand battered and yummy!!! Of course, you also have to swing by the Smoky Mtn. Candy Kitchen for a caramel apple and choc. covered peanuts.
It is a good thing that you have to walk around Gaitlinberg, then you don't feel so guilty for eating all of those yummy treats! Sunday night we went to another of the boys' favorite spots...Firehouse Putt-Putt. It is a fire house themed putt putt place, complete with a antique fire truck out front. The boys had a great time playing putt putt. It also provided some comic relief.
Monday was the lazy day of our trip. The weather was changing. It was cloudy, cold and drizzly all day. The boys were still tired from our day in Gaitlinberg. They stayed at the cabin that afternoon and watched Bolt. Mom and I got out for some Mother/Daughter time. We went to the biggest scrapbook store I have ever been to. It's almost too big. But I love going because they have things that I can never find at the craft stores around here. My mom cooked her awesome chili that night for dinner. We stayed at the cabin and played games like Uno Attack and Clue. We also watched DWTS before calling it a day.
Tuesday brought a surprise! When we woke up Tuesday morning, there was SNOW on the ground. Now granted it wasn't a ton, but it was enough to have a snow ball fight. It was the perfect snow for making snow balls out of. That afternoon, we took the boys back over to Gatlinberg to visit the Ripley's Aquarium there. When we got there, it was still snowing. The aquarium was pretty busy and understandly so. However, we enjoyed the aquarium very much despite the crowds. When we came out, the sun was shining. As we walked up the street back to where we parked, it started snowing again. In fact it was snowing so hard at one point that you couldn't see very far ahead of you. All in all we had a great trip. It is always nice to get away for a few days. Now we are ready for our next trip. I wonder where we will go?

So glad you had fun! We are like that up there too. You must go to the same stores, pancake houses, we have our pics taken on the chair lift. I think the "same ole" things are all the more reason we love it. That scrapbook store use to overwhelm me, I love the clearance center next door and was so thankful when we got one in Kennesaw. Now I've mostly given up paper scrapping. We love that aquarium too, neat neat set up!!!!
